 ARTHROSCOPY - carpal impingement

Arthroscopy operations have been carried out in Poland for nearly 40 years. Initially it was a coincidence, that allowed to establish the diagnosis of the joint damage (the first was the knee joint). With the development of medical technology, this method gained its strong position next to other surgical procedures as it proved to successfully cure. The arthroscope enables to perform multiple joints procedures, including the removal of the damaged structures (e.g. damaged meniscus in the knee, loose bodies in joints, oversized pieces of joint structures), reconstruction of the damaged elements (meniscus of the knee, knee ligaments, cartilage, tendon affecting the movement and stability of joints and other structures). Arthroscopy can also be used in the treatment of degenerative arthritis. The joint purification often gives great relief for suffering patients.

The procedures that are based on the arthroscope usage are minimally invasive and allow the patient to recover much quicker in comparison to the traditional methods. We perform arthroscopic procedures on the knee and shoulder joints.

For each procedure the following tests are required

• Blood test
• Morphology
• OB
• coagulation blood tests
• Electrolytes

In some cases additional tests are needed:

• ECG
• Chest X-ray
• Advanced laboratory testing

Patient should remain six hours of fasting (no eating or drinking) before the surgery.

For the diagnosis and surgical treatment method selection there may be the following tests required: chest x-ray, ultrasound, MRI (magnetic resonance) of the patients organs.

We require a dentist opinion about the health of our patient’s teeth for each orthopedic procedure.
