Cosmetogynecology is a rapidly expanding field of gynecology and plastic surgery which helps the patients to improve the functionality and aesthetics of external and internal genital organs. Negative effects of multiple childbirths and anatomical malformations can be surgically removed.

The most common procedures performed in our clinic are the following:

HYMENOPLASTY

Hymenoplasty is a reconstruction of hymen. It is usually performed on religious and socio-cultural grounds, however there are other circumstances in which the reconstruction of the lost virginity is very important for our patients. There might be several medical or psychological motives directing patients to undergo this kind of procedure. This particularly applies to virgin rape victims, women who wish to break with the previous "bad life" and married couples with long experience, who wish to repeat the marriage ceremony including the magical wedding night (a scenario quite popular in the U.S.).

Procedure description- an overview

The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and any complications are virtually impossible. The duration of treatment varies between 10 and 20 minutes.

The doctor notches and tears off the scraps of hymen left on the walls of patient’s vagina and sews them with an absorbable thread.

Preoperative recommendations

The treatment is preceded by a consultation visit. The following tests must be performed (it is possible to conduct them on-site):

- blood group
- morphology
- urine analysis
- coagulation blood tests - APTT, INR, PT
- ECG after the age of 40
- HBS antigen
- electrolytes
- blood sugar level

Patients are not allowed to take neither aspirin (including its derivatives e.g. Acard), Vitamin E nor any cough and anti-flu medicine for the period of two weeks before the procedure. Thus these kind of drugs adversely affect the bleeding process.

Please limit smoking to 3-4 cigarettes a day 3 days prior to surgery.

Please inform the doctor about any infections that took place two weeks prior to surgery.

Patient should remain six hours of fasting (no eating or drinking) before the surgery.

 Postoperative Period

After a few hours of hospitalization, the patient is discharged home. A follow up to visit at our Clinic should take place after about 7 days. The patient regains her total physical activity after a few days. The first sexual intercourse can be performed about 2 weeks after this procedure. The effects are exactly the same as in the case of the actual “first time" - in some cases pain and mild bleeding may occur.

Scrupulous adherence to the recommendations described is a key operative for a rapid recovery and significantly affects the final result of the surgery.
